Why Facebook and Windows 8 Are So Compatible?

Social media has been the biggest revolution in personal computing ever. Now it has been complimented by the new Windows 8 upgrade and update. Here is a look at how one website changed the world of computing forever.

Windows 8 has just been released as an operating system for tablets. This is a radical departure from what many of us expected. It is the single biggest change in what Windows has been about. Don’t think it about tablet computers; it is about much more than that. It is about the way we use computers, and about the way we share information. There is a reason why Facebook is so popular, and why it changed the way we think about computing and sharing information forever.

Social Media

Social media, essentially introduced to the world by Facebook, was a radical change in the way we thought about sharing information with others. Now we have our own profile, and we can share information with others. We share in groups, and we share with everyone. Before that, we had to send an email to everyone, and we did not know if they got it or not. There is nothing better than collaboration, and sharing, and the old days of personal computing were doomed from the day Facebook was launched.

Collaboration and Cloud

Collaboration and cloud computing are the same thing. They are the way we save and share information. They are exactly the same as Facebook and social media. They are the same as client-server applications companies are using to keep their information centralized and keeping their information safe. Collaboration means I can change a file, and it is also changed for you. This is the essence of cloud and the essence of collaboration.

Mobile Computing

We are all on the move. We use different devices to access our Facebook profile and other information. We use our mobile phone, tablet and laptop to access information on our company’s server. This is because we are using our browsers and the language of HTML5, the language of the internet to share information. It is very intelligent of Microsoft to allow new Windows 8 upgrade to use HTML5 like it uses the language of normal applications. This means that applications that once only ran in your browser, will be able to run on your operating system and get much more processing power from your device.

Facebook and Windows

It is interesting that Microsoft is one of the biggest investors in Facebook. Windows 8 forums are awash with discussions on this topic. You can find interesting stories and share information with other users, and find out information that is not easily found elsewhere.

Did you know that Facebook is already working on a stand-alone HTML5 application to work on the new Windows 8?

The Re-Creation of Windows, the formal name of Windows 8, will run on all devices, is fast, and is loaded with features that will make it easier for us to share and collaborate. The world of personal computing, and the way we share, has just been given and operating system to back it.
